About this deal

Great in almost every way except it needs a toggle to keep the bit that attaches to the lead from slipping back, a knot just won't do if the dog is to wear it to run about off lead.

before when Wilbury had a normal collar he was pulling so much he was nearly choking himself, now we can all walk with ease! As for the soreness - doesn't seem to be affecting ebbie at all - maybe cos her fur is so thick, or maybe it's because it's slightly too big so loosens as soon as she doesn't pull. Many dogs are not built for a head collar or a regular harness, particularly short-nosed dogs and dogs suffering from cervical pain or with a fragile backbone.I don't know whether harnesses stop dogs pulling, but they do save dogs from damaging their throats. This is because the Lupi Harness transforms a forward movement into an upward movement, therefore reducing the pulling. Quote from: Jane S on April 11, 2003, 11:12:31 AM The only drawback I can see with them is that being a harness, they do tend to matt up the coat underneath so probably would be no good for those Cockers with heavy coats and/or show dogs.

The Lupi no-pull harness transforms your dog’s pulling movement upwards, which will prevent your dog from pulling on its leash. You can't imagine how frustrated I was, after thingking 'that harness looks great' and not being able to find it! Direct-Vet carries various anti traction head collars (Lupi or Sporn) to prevent your dog from pulling on its lead. I put William in a Lupi and it worked well until he became VERY sore under his leg (only on one side).Jasper loathed the kumfi head collar - was unbearable with it - and we did persevere so I wanted a harness. I did try a halti a few yrs back and she was so stressed on it - i couldn't put her through it, rather have her pulling). The harness I chose was the Company of Animals Lupi Harness which obviously is usually meant for dogs.
