About this deal

E pra quem tem problemas em encontrar livros com mulheres de auto estima baixa, achei ele fantástico. Again, you have created a story that I can completely immerse myself in and have to grieve when it’s over. Avery and Finn are perfect for each other and such strong characters individually that they have a really fun dynamic to read. I absolutely loved the Love, Me and the 303 Series by Kay Cove and when she announced she was looking for ARC readers for her standalone novel, Camera Shy, I freaking RAN to apply. It may make you out of your mind jealous of Avery having Finn, but it will make you smile, blush, and cry because of how amazing he is.

I love it because it wasn’t provocative, but rather, like I said, all about self-love, and finding the inner confidence to be yourself in a relationship and especially in the bedroom. But I thought, OK, get away from that toxic sewer rat and let’s START this self-love journey while having the hottest, filthiest sex imaginable. I also absolutely loved how Avery not only went on a journey of self-discovery but spent the book learning how to love her body and its imperfections. But will they be able to keep their emotions out of it, and keep from falling in love before the summer ends and Avery leaves? I skimmed the next chapters and it’s never resolved that Cass hit all of the trigger points of Avery not wanting to be boring.

And Avery and Finn both agreed that the “relationship” they have going on was exclusive, no sharing, just them. She’s got a lot going for her - a good job, a long term boyfriend… then in the blink of an eye everything changes. I’ll go deeper into the areas that affected me negatively later, but first a bit more on the story for context. It had cute moments and it is really spicy and even besides all of the things I mentioned, at some point I was considering giving 4 stars bcs I was in a good mood, BUT the last 20% of the book. After her ex telling her the reason he wanted to break up was because of her being boring in the bedroom and bad at sex, added to the fact that she’s plus size woman uncomfortable with her body, she feels terrible about herself. Just because some things didn't work for me personally, doesn't mean this book wasn't enjoyable in other ways, and that other readers won't enjoy it for everything it is. Honestly, Kay Cove's writing shined during the spice scenes, she never missed (well, until one fateful scene). And I don’t necessarily think how quickly things moved from strangers to friends to more was the most believable.
