About this deal

Turtle Beach’s Elite Atlas Aero costs a little more than the Logi, but adds native 3D audio, and comes with the option of operating in a wired configuration, which allows it to be used with Microsoft’s consoles. Logitech’s headsets have always been a little left-field in terms of looks, be it the aircraft headset-inspired looks of the G Pro X Wireless, to the ski-band headband of this Logitech G535 Lightspeed. On the downside, there’s no active noise cancellation, and the passive noise cancellation on offer (by virtue of being an over-ear headset) is pretty average.

However, they don't block out background noise like office chatter, they leak a lot of audio at high volumes, and their gamer-centric design includes a non-detachable boom mic, which stands out from the crowd. Like most gaming headphones from this manufacturer, they're compatible with Logitech G HUB software, which allows you to customize their otherwise neutral sound to your liking using the graphic EQ plus presets. The flip-up to mute feature is handy for yourself on the fly, and the power button/volume control wheel are positioned for easy access on the ear cup backing. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.

The microphone doesn't quite sit as close to your mouth as you'd expect either, and even though that isn't a deal breaker, it does mean that as lightweight and easy to move around as the Logitech G535 Lightspeed Wireless is - it'll be tethered to either a PC or PlayStation. The G535 are extremely comfortable, but at the cost of an underwhelming bass profile and subpar sound isolation.

That isn’t to say that the build quality is poor, more like average, and is what I expect from a low to mid-range gaming headset. For instance, when listening to music and typing out some work, even with the volume on high, the G535 Lightspeed wasn’t able to block out all typing noise. There have also been text changes made throughout the review, including to the usages, and product comparisons to match these results. Right out of the box I was struck by how featherlight these cans feel, despite having generously proportioned cups on each side.Switching over to Forza Horizon 5, it's a similar experience of engine sounds, radio station music, and narration, all firing and sounding great.

The Logitech G535 has a frequency response chart that follows our target curve fairly closely above 700Hz.But in close-up conversations in the same game the surround-sound effect was somewhat lacking in precision. With that being said, I noticed a small bassy punch in the overall profile, which helped to emphasise the lower-end of songs a little more, with the bass brought a little further forward.
